This research investigates the functional evolution of bath mats from simple household textiles to high-performance tools for home safety and hygiene. By conducting a comparative analysis of traditional high-pile cotton against modern diatomaceous earth (stone) and memory foam technologies, the study evaluates critical performance metrics such as water-wicking speed, surface evaporation rates, and antimicrobial resistance in high-humidity environments. Additionally, the project explores the psychological impact of tactile comfort and aesthetic integration on consumer purchasing behavior, while simultaneously testing the mechanical reliability of anti-skid backings to prevent slip-and-fall injuries. Ultimately, this study seeks to define the "ideal" bath mat by balancing sustainable manufacturing practices with the rigorous durability standards required for both modern residential bathrooms and high-traffic hospitality settings.
